Devlog 12: Polish Week 2 The Final Devlog

Tech

This week, we have added an extra touch of visual flair to the endscreen by updating the animations. We have incorporated captivating particle effects and corresponding sound effects to further enhance the overall impact and aesthetics. These additions bring more vibrancy and excitement to the endscreen, creating a memorable and satisfying conclusion to the gameplay experience.

And now, when the game starts, we have introduced a brief countdown period to allow players some time to acclimate themselves to the game. Before entering the match, a small countdown timer will provide a moment to prepare and get ready for the upcoming fight.

Art

When you die as a fighter you get sucked in a lava crack now. This makes the transition in between death and swap, with the god, a bit lengthier and lets you catch your breath a bit before the chaos hits again.

When the Meteor strike is cast it seems much more of a threat because it blocks off a significant amount of your view then before. Not only the trail that the meteor leaves behind but more so the explosion / shock wave it makes after  impact.

Sound

We have exciting updates to share! First, we have created our own unique theme for the main menu, which creates a distinctive atmosphere for players as they navigate through the game. This theme is also utilized in the lobby, providing a consistent and immersive experience.

We have also made improvements to the sound effects, ensuring they sound even better. Furthermore, we have balanced the volume levels throughout the game, so players will experience consistent sound levels across all aspects of gameplay.

Additionally, we have implemented sounds to enhance player feedback and awareness. You will now hear a sound when picking up a health pack or when soldiers spawn, providing clear feedback on these significant events. Moreover, we have added a new sound effect specifically for when each player is displayed on the endscreen.

Conclusion

This was our last devlog (for now), we highly appreciate you guys following the process / progress and can't wait for everyone to give the game a try!
